I was flipping through my first photo album tonight and suddenly came across a picture of Evan...wait, that can't be. It was baby Peter! What do you all think?

6 Weeks
Jan weighed Evan at our 6 week appointment and found that he has gained 4 pounds since he was born. 10 pounds 7.5 ounces. Daniel will miss playing with the school bus and dinosaur at Jan's office, but Mommy won't miss going there for awhile. :-)
After collecting good ideas off of Pinterest, I decided to try one. :-) Daniel LOVED this toy and spent the entire morning (we're talking hours of uninterrupted play) with this simple idea. The only drawback is that I have to make sure I'm right there in case he decides to dump the popcorn all over the place or tries to eat some. So far so good. He keeps telling me, "No eat!"
We'll make sure he doesn't play with it in the sun this summer. ;-)
The grain shoot is made from a milk carton. The silo is made from two yogurt containers (the penguin tower on the right). It has a little door that opens to allow the stored grain to dump into the truck.
Mom brought her friend, Cindy, for a quick visit. Mom and Cindy were best friends all through high school, etc. Cindy lives in Washington state now, but we sure enjoy her visits. She is a fun person and loves knitting and quilting! She is counting down the days until she retires from Physical Therapy in order to make all the things she has ideas for and to visit grandkids frequently.
My cousin, Kathi, came over after work on Tuesday. What a treat. She read books, played, and held Evan. Daniel couldn't say her name but he kept trying. Through the evening it morphed from "Kevin" to "Caffeine."

My beautiful mother!
All dressed for a walk in the cold. Asleep in the pack.
Daniel is always asking for pictures of "two boy, two boy."

5 Weeks
Mr. Handsome ready for church. Cute shirt from Uncle Mark & Aunt Nika.
These guys seem to be tuned into each other already.
Finally finished Daniel's sweater. Was hoping it would fit next fall, but I don't know. Blurry I know.
Always talking about or playing with pretend and real trash! That silly guy.
Finally cold enough for Evan to wear his sweater. I found some super cute Peter Rabbit buttons at one of the quilt shops April, Mom and I went to while April was here.
Made him a hat. It looks good with April's quilt although probably not from this picture.
Evan looks like, "What in the world is Mommy doing to me?" Daniel explains, "Well you see Evan, Mommy is obsessed with taking our pictures because we're so cute.
So just smile and it will be over quick." :-)
Chris thinks this looks girly with the fur and he's probably right; however, it does show Evan's eye color. Blue, and getting bluer still!

He was on my lap at church just grinning up a storm!
4 Weeks and April's Visit
What a pleasure to have April come and visit! We had lots of time just to SIT. It was amazing! When we felt super motivated we went to fabric, quilt and yarn shops together with Mom and the two boys. :-) That week was the highlight of my life...you get the idea...it was terrific!
Thank you for coming, April. Thank you for giving her up for a week, Nathan!
On the way home from the airport we stopped and visited Grandma Barbara. I thought this was a beautiful picture of her holding Evan.
Danny loves this cat that Grandma Barbara crocheted. It holds plastic trash bags in the skirt part. Well this particular morning, he got the cat and put it down for a nap. Then he brought books for the cat to read, just like his naps. About 2 hours later he went in and got the cat up from her nap and asked, "Had a good nap?"

This is just what Daniel used to do with his arms!
Auntie April
Here's the beautiful quilt April made for Evan. It is adorable and I just LOVE the colors.
The guys ready for bed.
Bright eyed that morning.
Danny discovering the mess that dandelions make on your hands.
Cutie Pie (version 2.0)
Cutie Pies (versions 1.0 & 3.0)
Easter Sunday lunch at the Gilchrist's house
Grandma & Grandpa Travers for Easter dinner...two tired boys!
The double stroller put to use!
Fun to see just how small Evan is
Danny is obsessed with wearing Mr. Potato Head's glasses. He looks, well, ridiculous. :-)

We tried paints for the first time. I painted a sun with a face and as soon as he got the paintbrush, all he could think about was needing to add eyebrows. I had no idea that eyebrows play such an important role in his life!
