October & November

We were able to get moved into our new accommodation almost three weeks ago. I remember as we packed and moved only wearing a short sleeved shirt since it was so warm. One week later we needed jackets, and tonight as I was driving home from teaching, the car thermometer boasted 6 degrees! Thankfully we're snug as a bug in a rug here in our new home. Dad and Chris spent an evening before we moved filling the attic to the brim with additional insulation (the AttiCat system from Home Depot) and it really seems to be doing the job!

We have a lot of fond memories of this place and will sure miss it, but are thankful for more room for the growing little man.
Enjoying some porch time in the fall.

Trying to make sense of all the packing going on around him.

Grandma providing entertainment during all the chaos of moving.

The day we moved from our lovely apartment.

Some of the tuckered out movers.

Daniel wasn't sure about our new home for several days, but now he's be to being his old self. He spends a great deal of time pushing his borrowed walker toy around and around the house, stopping occasionally to make sure there are no unguarded treasure troves to plunder. These can include (but are certainly not be limited to) a trash can full of kleenex, his diaper bag full of "dangerous" only-for-church toys, toilet paper roll that needs unwinding, Daddy's keys lying about, the office door found ajar (the gateway to paradise), or shriveled up leaves from the hibiscus lurking under the china hutch. On rare occasions he finds the grandest prize of all: Mommy's cell phone still in her purse sitting by the front door. Oh me, oh my.

My sweet Mom and Dad at Dad's birthday celebration right
before Thanksgiving. I'm certainly very thankful for
such wonderful parents!!

After a delicious Thanksgiving feast Daniel put up a fuss the next day when offered his usual sweet potatoes and squash. Apparently he thinks he is ready for big boy food like curry, chicken rice soup, mashed potatoes and gravy, muffins, and waffles. I certainly feel like I've gained another eater all of a sudden. When I lay the food laden dishes on the table, he surveys each plate and looks in his bowl as if to see if he's getting the same thing or some silly baby food again. :-)

Daniel is finally understanding prayer time a bit better and offered a boisterous, "Amen," at the end of the breakfast prayer a few days ago. Danny also says Mom-ma and Dad quite a few times every day, barks like a dog and growls like a lion as he pushes his walker toy. His hair is getting a bit long in the back, but I can't cut it yet! :-) His uncles continually tease him about him turning into a girl.

Trying to remove the evidence of his whereabouts! Silly baby!!

Danny is actually starting to play with Blake!

Everybody loves Aunt Jamie!

Getting over his cold.

He loves playing ball with Daddy.

Enjoying the special Christmas decorations.
