Boinging, revisited again!!

It just gets better and better!

Fun for Mommy and Baby!

God gives me so much each day to add to my list on the fridge.
This post is about the newest addition to the list...
Yes, Mommy loves surprise packages, even though it was for her son!! :-)

Daniel did a bit of scientific testing for authenticity.

After determining that it was real since it tasted like the mail truck, opening commenced with Daddy taking the lead.

Admiring the contents. Surely they can be chewed on! :-)

"Mommy, these look too hot." "Don't worry, son.
Grandma sent you a beautifully written card in explanation! Here, I'll read it to you."
"Soon the days will be lengthening,
The leaves will change,
And there will be a little bite in the air.
You will need long sleeves to take brisk walks with Daddy.
You will need some 9 month old pants to cover your legs
As you flap in your little swing,
And chew your leather shoes in the car seat to visit Grandma and Grandpa Travers.
The leaves will change color and fall.
Mama will tell you stories of other
Fall days in the high mountains of
Colorado when she was a girl.
Daddy will tell stores, unbelievable stories
of wearing shorts all winter and wearing duck tape shoes for soccer in the winter months.
You are growing so fast and learning much quickly.
May the Lord bless and protect you and keep you content in your new duds."

"Now I understand, Mom!
Thank you so much, Grandma and Grandpa Johnson!"

Snap, CACKLE, and Pop!

Happily Playing

Happy baby; happy Daddy!

Chris' 32nd Birthday

We decided to celebrate Chris' birthday at our place this year. The plans were set for a fantastic outdoor pizza party. Well, the weather had other plans. Right about 6pm we felt like we were in the middle of a Storm Chasers episode. We decided that we would have a nicpic (indoor picnic) as long as no tornado carried off our apartment. All the guests were very easygoing and didn't mind covering our living room Astroturf with their picnic blankets. :-)

Boinging, revisited

Remember that picture I posted of Daniel "boinging" the doorstopper? Well, here he is in action.
(He loves watching this video of himself as much as doing the boinging!)

Strawman

Chris brought his little family out to eat last night to celebrate Mommy's birthday. Daniel did his best to make his parents appear flustered and a tad looney, but also managed to find a new favorite toy for the evening. We had to put an end to it when it started flipping baby slobber onto nearby diners. Yuck!

Daniel is once again a big fan of his swing since he figured out how to make it more exciting and dangerous!! He sits forward as far as possible and just grins and flaps his arms. He must think he's flying. Today he added a new element...

Just all of a sudden, Daniel has started sitting to play with his toys. He'll fall straight back occasionally, but he won't even cry. He just looks up like, "Why did that happen? Get me back up, Mommy!"
He cracked me up yesterday by baby proofing his own toy!

First Bites...2 months ago

Thanks to Chris' help, we finally have a video of Daniel eating his first solid food. Back then he only ate 1" of a banana each day. Now he eats an entire banana, two times a day!

Beautiful views on the way.

Borrowing Grandpa's kangaroo hat

Peter thinks this is what Becky looks like when she drives. :-)

Peter thinks this is what Abbey looks like when she laughs hard. :-)

Jacob's dream come true.

Book time with Grandma and Grandpa.

Posing for the front of the game box.

Computer table...did they even notice the view out the window? I doubt it. :-)

Family picture in the town of Grand Lake

Book time with Abbey

Uncle Nathan

He wasn't too thrilled with the baby swing

He liked the slide

He seemed to think this big juice container was a bottle

"I'm so tired, Mommy!"

Aunt Becky

April

Attempting to fly Nathan's BD present from April. (An RC airplane.)

The field wasn't big enough and he crashed onto a house roof.
The owners were very kind about it and handed it back to Nathan.

That was the end of the flying experience for the day. (Plus it needed a little repair.)

Getting ready for a campfire. Fortunately, the fire ban was lifted just days before we went.
We were all so excited! Bring on the s'mores!!

Guys area!

The impossible Washington D.C. puzzle finally got completed.
This has been in process for probably 9 months now! It was nearly impossible!
Great job, April and Mom!

Showing off his astronaut outfit from Aunt Nika.

Getting ready for a new round of Five Crowns.

Last game of the trip...Apri's game, Ticket to Ride.

Jacob

Bed time!

Shoes were the biggest hit of the trip. What a great built-in chewing toy!

Can't even go for a car ride without their magic screens.

Daniel is learning about the joys of Daddy's magic iPad.

Beautiful hike.

Dad making waffles.

What an amazing week! Thank you Lord!
