Well, Mr. Babykins has succeeded in becoming the apple of our eye. It is rare to have a day go by that Chris doesn't say, "He's just so adorable!" Of course Mommy says that 50 times per day, but that's normal for a mommy.

He has gained 4 pounds, 4 ounces since he was born, and grown 2 1/2 inches longer. I feel sure that any day now a laugh will escape. Fortunately, the little Babykins is putting up with all of Mommy's efforts to get that laugh to slip out. He is full of the grins, especially when he wakes Mommy up nice and early every morning. He seems to be quite surprised that the mobile is still hanging there each morning. As the room gets light enough to make out its shape, the joy in seeing his favorite toy seems to warrant quite a celebration of squealing and kicking in the cradle.

He grabbed a toy for the first time today.

Crazy life

My day yesterday -
Cloth diaper pail sprung a leak while full (yuck!), new dessert recipe failed (that meant no dessert for company arriving soon), baby having a major meltdown caused the huge pot of chili to burn for company arriving in 7 minutes (had to go buy more ingredients and remake it after their arrival), dirty burp clothes covering the couch from all the major spit up eruptions, stove and wall splattered with burned chili because of me neglecting the pot, every square inch of counter space filled with dirty dishes to greet the company's arrival...so went my first attempt at having company with a baby in the house. 

Verdict: EPIC FAILURE!

Like they always told us in Westernaires, get right back on that horse when you take a fall or you will be scared for life. I'm not sure I'm quite ready to jump back on this horse, but thankfully our company was very gracious about the fact that they were invited over to eat. To eat nothing.

Happy little man

He was pretty stiff at the beginning of the photo shoot...

...but he soon loosened up.

He has actually started playing with toys. I'm hoping to figure out how to post a video soon.

He loves his tummy time each day.
