Dear Grandma & Grandpa Johnson,

One day I woke up and said to myself, "Why are my toes so squashed? They didn't used to be." I was very perplexed.

Mommy told me that it's because I'm growing so fast. Of course that was it! I was so relieved to have the answer.

 I sat down and had a talk with Daddy about all this and asked him what we should do. He said, "Don't worry son, we'll play it by ear."

 I didn't know how playing with my ears would help, but Daddy always has the answer, so I gave it a try. Unfortunately, I soon grew so tired that I fell fast asleep. This is when the magic happened.

Mommy said that Auntie Jamie came over with a very mysterious package from Grandma and Grandpa and said it was for me! When I got up, Mommy helped me open it and said, "This will fix your problem little Daniel!"

Wow! Thank you Grandma and Grandpa! My toes will feel much better now!

Mommy showed me this outfit first and I was so sad that it wouldn't fit yet, I burst into tears.

But then Mommy quickly showed me these clothes that will fit soon and I felt so much happier.

This one works great as a blanket right now.

I loved how soft this one felt that I drooled on it to show my approval, but then Mommy said I shouldn't drool on my clothes so I'm sorry Grandma and Grandpa!

This was so exciting that now I need a nap, but I know I will sleep better now 

that this problem is solved! Thank you!!

6 weeks

Our little Danny boy is 6 weeks old now. He is smiling more and more. Today at my 6 week appointment, Daniel gave a big grin to the midwife, Molly. She was thrilled! Everybody commented how Danny is all cheeks. He's my little hamster.

Getting used to the new normal

Grandma and Grandpa Johnson left today resulting in great sadness among all the Gilchrists and Johnsons! Somehow life must go on. Danny is trying to do his part to rejoice evermore by giving me one of the biggest grins ever today.

Later we went to the mailbox with his new Boba baby carrier. I feel that he must either be extremely comfortable or so bored since he always drifts off to sleep within minutes of going for a walk.

Danny has never noticed the mobile in his crib until today. As usual, when going down for a nap, he let out a great wail of protest. I wound up the mobile, more for my sanity than his. Suddenly he quit crying, opened his eyes wide like he was startled, and focused intently on one of the clowns. As it disappeared from sight, his eyes snapped onto the next clown. This continued for at least five minutes. My little boy is growing so fast!

Grandma, Grandpa, and Aunties...

The day finally arrived for the rest of the family to meet Daniel! Though Daniel surprised us all by coming early, he still looked enough like a newborn to please Grandma, Grandpa, and Aunt Nika. We were all sorry Uncle Mark couldn't join the gathering!
